Irritable Bowel Syndrome

As far as modern medicine is concerned, IBS is a "diagnosis of exclusion". Therefore, if all other diseases have been excluded, it must simply be "IBS".

In reality, IBS in the vast majority of cases is simply a lack of good gut bacteria (probiotics) and/ or food intolerances.

Thus, rarely is this more than a severe gastrointestinal dysfunction as outlined in Gastrointestinal Disease. Focus on each of the points covered in the gastrointestinal programme diligently.

In our practice, we would estimate that at least 70% patients are intolerant to at least one food.

The most common probiotics that are deficient include the Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium groups with the most common food intolerances being cow's milk dairy and wheat/yeast/gluten.
